Heilicher is the Twin Cities' K-8 independent school of choice for families who want academic excellence in a nurturing Jewish environment.
We are committed to academic excellence and the pursuit of learning as a life-long venture. Our school practices respect for the diversity of Jewish life, and we challenge our students to study and embrace Jewish values and American democratic principles. Heilicher graduates are recognized as successful learners and leaders committed to the Jewish community and the global society throughout their lives.
Driven by Core Jewish Values
HMJDS is guided by ten core values which are omnipresent throughout the school building and the curriculum. The core values come to life as students study them through creative and age-appropriate learning activities.
(כָּל יִשְׂרָאֵל עֲרֵבִים זֶה בָּזֶה (שבועות לט
"All Jews are responsible for one another.” (Shavu’ot 39A)
Our community is one. We respect each other’s differences.
(וְאָהַבְתָּ לְרֵעֲךָ כָּמוֹךָ (ויקרא יט:יח
“And you shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Leviticus 19:18)
We should treat others the way we want to be treated, with caring, kindness, and respect.
(עֲשֵׂה לָךְ רַב, וּקְנֵה לָךְ חָבֵר (משנה אבות א:ו
“Make for yourself a mentor and get yourself a friend.” (Avot 1:6)
It is important to respect and learn from our teachers and our friends. We also need a good friend to help us in our learning.
