AMOS & CELIA HEILICHER MINNEAPOLIS JEWISH DAY SCHOOL

Heilicher ’20 was the Heilicher Minneapolis Jewish Day School’s operational guide based on the Strategic Plan adopted in May 2016. No one could have predicted how dramatically the global pandemic would reshape our 2020-2021 school year. Yet we are pleased to present our progress reports from 2017-2019, and look forward to creating a new, post-pandemic strategic planning process in the near future.

Strategic Plan & Background

In 2014, the Amos and Celia Heilicher Minneapolis Jewish Day School community embarked on a strategic planning process to provide a roadmap for the next three to five years.

More than 100 community members were involved in the strategic planning process through service on task force, leadership of a task force, participation in a focus group, or as a respondent to a survey or questionnaire.

Thank you to Ron Krebs, Neil Moses-Zirkes, and Debbie Stillman, who served as Strategic Planning Co-Chairs. They created four task forces, each with outstanding volunteer leadership:

  • General Studies, led by Mark Appelbaum and David Nathan
  • Jewish Life & Learning, led by Bruce Manning and Jerel Shapiro
  • Student Profile, led by Jerry Waldman and Lauren Weiser
  • Faculty Development, led by Bob Karasov and Cindy Reich

In May 2016, the Board of Trustees approved the Strategic Plan, summarized below.
