After-school Activities & Programming

Heilicher HaBonim offers fun, safe, enriching, onsite activities for students who need after-school care. Physical playtime, games, art projects, snacks, and quiet homework time are all features of the program. New this year is Heilicher teacher-led homework help for Upper School students in the After-School Hour program.

In addition to HaBonim, there are loads of after-school activities such as Chess, Spanish, and Athletics. Each of these programs coordinates with HaBonim to provide seamless transitions for students who need to move from one program to another.

The HaBonim program is just about as flexible as can be to solve all your after-care needs. You choose your amount of time and days per week. Sign up in advance to take advantage of Early Bird pricing discounts. And, new this year…no registration fees!

See you after school!

Qué Tal After-School Spanish Program

Founded in 2002, Qué Tal (pronounced “ke tal”) is a highly sought-after language school that provides extra-curricular Spanish lessons in many school districts in the Twin Cities metro. Using the McGraw-Hill Viva el Español curriculum, Qué Tal’s native Spanish-speaking teachers integrate culture, music, games, and history in to twice weekly lessons with a goal to give students a solid foundation in Spanish verbal comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing. This promises to be an enriching and stimulating onsite after-school option for Heilicher students! Learn more at

HMJDS Parent

I loved being on the sports teams at HMJDS. They were fun and not too pressure-filled. I felt more comfortable going out for sports in high school, which was a great way to meet new people!
