We are thrilled to announce that Stacy Pinck and Brad Birnberg, and Jill and Jon Halper, will be the Heilicher Minneapolis Jewish Day School's 2021 Annual Benefit honorees. Both couples have a strong legacy of leadership at Heilicher and in the broader community, and we are excited to have the opportunity to recognize them at our gala next calendar year.
Heilicher is committed to striving for an in-person Annual Benefit. For that reason, we are planning to hold next year's Benefit on the evening of October 10, 2021.
Stacy Pinck and Brad Birnberg are parents of three Heilicher alumni - Julia (22), Jake (20) and Allison (18). Both Brad and Stacy have a long history of involvement with Heilicher. Brad served on the Executive Board for 11 years and still provides support and guidance to the school through his work on the Finance Committee and Advancement Leadership Council, and Stacy volunteered on a variety of parent committees and in classrooms. In addition, Brad serves on the Board of the Minneapolis Jewish Federation, where, in addition to serving as Treasurer, he is currently a leader in the community Kadima campaign to raise funds for COVD-19 relief and security. A teacher by profession, Stacy also has been involved with the Federation's Women's Division, Overseas Committee, and Global Experience: Uganda. Stacy and Brad are the incoming Council Co-Chairs for AIPAC Minnesota. The couple's other involvements include: University of Minnesota Hillel, Beth El Synagogue, NCSY's Jewish Student Union, Sholom Foundation, Adult Options in Education in St. Louis Park, We Can Ride, the International Hearing Foundation, and Aish Minnesota. In fact, there are very few organizations in the Twin Cities Jewish community that haven't benefited from Brad and Stacy's involvement, leadership, and support.
Jill and Jon Halper also have a long trajectory of leadership in the Jewish and local communities. They are the parents of three Heilicher alumni - Jamie (22), Josh (20) and Jonah (16). Jon is a past Board president of Heilicher, led the Head of School search process that resulted in Yoni Binus' appointment, and guided the school through a number of important transitions. Currently, Jon is active at the Minneapolis Jewish Federation, where he serves on the Board, has a key role in the Kadima campaign, and chairs the Development Steering Committee. He is a Board member for the Children's Cancer Research Fund, and has served in a significant fundraising capacity there. Jill serves on the Boards of both Herzl Camp and Jewish Family and Children's Service. They also are involved in numerous other Jewish and non-Jewish organizations throughout the Twin Cities, where they are respected for their passion, talent, and commitment to building a stronger community.
Heilicher's Board President, Wendy Lovell-Smith, summed up the honorees' accomplishments:
"There are few other families in the Twin Cities Jewish community whose names are synonymous with involvement in such a diversity of Jewish community issues and organizations. We are thrilled that Stacy, Brad, Jill and Jon are partnering with us on the 2021 Annual Benefit, and we look forward to celebrating with our broader community as we emerge from this unprecedented time."
Heilicher Head of School Yoni Binus also spoke to the honorees' extensive history with the school:
"I have had the pleasure of working directly with Brad and Jon through their long-time leadership roles at the school, and of getting to know Stacy and Jill when they were parents at Heilicher. Both couples exemplify a deep commitment to Jewish education and are willing to lend their time and talents to help our school thrive. I look forward to recognizing them at our Benefit next year!"
Please join our Heilicher Board and professional leadership in recognizing the honorees and celebrating our incredible school!
